Option-dependent projections, moving equipment, mold loading and component removal can control the real layout. The released configured drawings must arrive early enough for building, rigging, utility and production-flow review.

RELEASE SEQUENCE

Six gates move the layout from concept to as built.

Freeze the configuration

Identify machine, injection unit, screw/barrel option, guarding, robot, auxiliaries and shipping split before trusting dimensions or masses.

Review three envelopes

Separate transport, operating/moving and maintenance/removal envelopes; each can control a different part of the site.

Walk the complete route

Verify arrival, unloading, doors, turns, overheads, floor/bridge constraints, temporary staging and final placement.

Coordinate the foundation

Provide released support/load information to the qualified structural owner and return site requirements to the machine supplier.

Prove maintenance access

Use task-based access and component-removal paths rather than one generic clearance around the machine.

Control field changes

Record every changed position, anchor, trench, service entry, guard or access zone in the final as-built and acceptance files.

Layout, rigging and foundation FAQ

These answers keep supplier drawings, qualified site designs and final acceptance responsibilities separate.

01Is the overall machine footprint enough for a site layout?

No. Add moving envelopes, mold handling, robot and auxiliaries, operating tasks, maintenance/removal paths, logistics, guards, utilities and building access. Use the exact configured general arrangement.

02Can a supplier transport drawing be used as the lift plan?

No. It is an important load and handling input. Qualified responsible parties must prepare and approve the actual rigging/lift plan for the equipment, route, lifting devices, ground/building conditions and destination requirements.

03How much maintenance clearance should be allowed?

There is no universal clearance in this guide. Map each task and component-removal path using the configured machine instructions, tools, lifting method, site controls and responsible maintenance review.

04Does every injection molding machine need a special foundation?

Do not assume either way. Provide the exact machine support, load, leveling and dynamic information available to a qualified structural owner, who must assess the actual slab, soil/building, anchors, trenches and local requirements.

05What layout evidence belongs in the RFQ?

Send the site drawing and route survey, floor/building information, mold and handling data, desired cell equipment, utility entry constraints, maintenance/logistics zones and required configured-machine GA, transport and support drawings.
