Separate machine-related classification, product-related measurement, complete-cell consumption and site cost. Name the method, configuration, included loads, exclusions and denominator before drawing a purchasing conclusion.

Start with the decision—not the energy number.

A result can be valid inside its method and still be unsuitable for another comparison. EUROMAP 60.1 and 60.2 answer different questions, while a buyer’s complete-cell study needs an additional, explicit utility boundary.

EUROMAP 60.1 — Determination of Machine Related Energy Efficiency Class

Defines a machine-related test and reporting boundary without a customer's mold or product influence, including explicit excluded equipment.

Boundary: Use only for comparable, similarly sized machines tested and reported under the recommendation; it is not a complete-cell or production-cost result.

EUROMAP 60.2 — Determination of Product Related Energy Consumption

Defines a product-related electrical-energy record for a specified machine, product and process, with separated load blocks and test conditions.

Boundary: The result remains configuration- and process-specific; externally supplied fluids and other excluded loads must not be silently added or omitted.

01Is an EUROMAP 60.1 class the same as product energy consumption?

No. EUROMAP 60.1 is a machine-related reference-cycle method. EUROMAP 60.2 records electrical energy for a specified machine, product and process. Keep the method and boundary beside every result.

02Can two energy figures be compared if both use kWh/kg?

Not automatically. Confirm method, machine size/configuration, material, mold, process, included loads, excluded loads, operating state, measurement and denominator. Matching units do not create a matching test boundary.

03Are robot, dryer, chiller and compressed air included?

It depends on the chosen method. EUROMAP 60.1 explicitly excludes several external and peripheral loads. EUROMAP 60.2 separates defined electrical load blocks and excludes externally supplied fluids. A complete-cell study must list each included item.

04Does an all-electric machine always use less energy?

No universal conclusion follows from the drive label. Compare configured machines on the same production task, process state, complete-cell boundary and measurement method, then review quality and output at the same time.

05What energy evidence belongs in an RFQ?

State the decision, method, configuration, product/process, included and excluded loads, measurement plan, denominator, quality/output conditions and how non-comparable supplier data will be handled.
